World Defense Show 2024 Concludes with SAR26 Billion in Purchase Contracts

The second World Defense Show (WDS) concluded today with the signing of 61 purchase contracts worth SAR26 billion. WDS 2024 had 773 exhibitors and 441 official delegations from 116 countries. The number of visitors who attended WDS was 106,000.
A total of 73 agreements were signed during the WDS days, encompassing 17 industrial partnership agreements. General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) Governor Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali expressed sincere thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, for his gracious patronage of this global event. He expressed gratitude towards His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the GAMI Chairman of the Board of Directors. He acknowledged the Crown Prince’s unwavering interest and consistent attention, which played a crucial role in the successful outcome of the WDS. This demonstrates the leadership’s aspiration to establish a specialized global WDS, comprising the finest defense and security firms worldwide.
The Kingdom aims to localize 50% of military services and equipment expenditures in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Al-Ohali extended his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all the government entities, as well as the local and international companies, that participated in the second annual WDS. He extended a warm welcome to all participants who will return to Riyadh in 2026 for the next WDS. The show will persist in its mission to foster cooperation, encourage innovation, and delve into potential business prospects within the defense and security sectors.
