"Military Industries" Imdadthon Honors 3 Teams for Supply Chain Tech Innovations

The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) today crowned three creative teams that excelled in providing innovative solutions to address challenges in the military industries' supply chain sector. This took place at the conclusion of the technical innovation event "Imdadthon for Developing Technical Solutions in Military Industries' Supply Chains," which was held over two days in cooperation with the Innovation Hub at the Digital Government Authority (DGA) in Riyadh. Imdadathon brought together over 40 participants from GAMI, companies operating in the sector, and students from the National Academy of Military Industries. They competed to present creative ideas aimed at enhancing the efficiency of supply chains in the military industries sector, stimulating technical innovation, supporting digital transformation in the sector, and fostering a culture of open innovation, all in alignment with the objectives of localizing military industries. His Excellency Eng. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of GAMI, extended his congratulations to the winning teams and expressed his gratitude to all participants for their strong competition and great enthusiasm, which produced promising ideas and solutions that will become a tangible reality contributing to the development of the military industries system. This progress will ultimately help achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. His Excellency Al-Ohali also thanked the Digital Government Authority for embodying an ideal model of national integration by hosting this technical innovation event at the Innovation Hub. This contributes to the emergence of a new generation of pioneering national capabilities with competitive potential in developing technical solutions for supply chains in the military industries sector. Over two days, participants engaged in an intensive program that included specialized lectures, design thinking workshops, brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas, and the development of prototypes for proposed solutions. The competing teams presented their innovative projects before a specialized judging panel. The event also featured two workshops on "Emerging Technologies in Supply Chains," which highlighted opportunities to leverage modern technology and artificial intelligence in improving military supply chain efficiency, along with key aspects of developing supply chains for military industries. During the competition, the participating teams worked on presenting and explaining the challenges, followed by a theoretical presentation on design thinking and its stages. The participants then engaged in a hands-on activity to identify user needs using design thinking tools. Subsequently, the teams were assisted in clearly defining the challenges based on these needs, creating prototypes along with implementation methods until their final design. Under the guidance of specialized mentors, valuable proposals for innovative technical solutions were developed, ultimately reaching the presentation stage before a judging panel comprising several experts and specialists. The three winning teams that secured the top positions received valuable prizes, while all participants were awarded certificates of appreciation in recognition of their active participation and valuable contributions. Imdadthon underscores GAMI's relentless pursuit of adopting cutting-edge technologies and fostering technical innovation as a cornerstone for developing the military industries sector in the Kingdom. It aims to enhance the sector's role in supporting the national economy, in alignment with the Saudi Digital Transformation Program toward a thriving digital nation.
